Jersey Intensity wins Gold, Silver and Bronze at 2010 Disney Showcase
Congratulations to both our U-19 teams for playing beautiful "team" hockey over the weekend. Our U-19 Blue team, with players working together for the first time only had one loss for the weekend, which came to the eventual Silver Medalists.
Our JI Black team performed flawlessly with a perfect 9-0 record, leaving Disney with the distinction of being the best U19 team there and the Gold Medal!! JI Black finished 1st out of a field of 64, giving up only one goal over the weekend while scoring a dominating 44! The team played with great poise, confidence and with a fierce determination of winning the Gold Medal.
Congratulations to our U-16 Jersey Intensity Disney team for winning the Bronze medal. After three days of consistent play against tough competitors, JI advanced to the medal rounds on Sunday. After a disappointing pool loss to WC Eagles earlier in the week it was a rematch in the Bronze medal game. And as always our medal games against the PA power WC Eagles was a nail biter!!
This time, JI avenged the loss with an exciting 2-1 win for the Bronze Medal. The girls played tough, smart and most importantly together to come away with a medal – keeping JI in the top three U-16 teams for the past three years! Well done ladies!!
Our U-14 team also playing together for the first time played great JI hockey. The team scored 20 goals and conceded only four in six games. The JI U14 team was one of eight out of 48 teams to make the cross-over rounds on Sunday.
And a final congratulations to our first ever co-ed U-12 Jersey Intensity Stars team. The team went undefeated (6-0-2) and won the Silver Medal on a Goal Differential tie-breaker. The team improved with each and every game and played with great "intensity" and competiveness!! Our coaches and fans enjoyed every minute of their games!
The future continues to shine bright for JI Field Hockey!!
Congratulations to all the players for once again putting JI on top. You all played with great sportsmanship, pride and a winning spirit. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you to all our tremendous coaches – Nigel, Richard, Kelly Monahan and Kelly Balady for your commitment to the girls and to the success of Jersey Intensity Field Hockey.
